St. Joseph’s College of Education, Mysuru, named after St.Joseph, the Patron Saint of the Diocese of Mysore, was established in 1971, by the late Bishop of Mysore, the Most Rev. Dr. Mathias Fernandes and the secretary Rev. Fr. Dennis Noronha on the firm foundation of the motto of “Love, Loyalty and Service”. The college is a Roman Catholic institution & enjoys the status of a religious minority. The college is governed by the Mysore Diocesan Educational Society (MDES), a registered Society which stands for universal values of brotherhood, love, peace, tolerance, cooperation, dignity of every person and preferential love for the poor.
